Много политици и единици редови миряни присъстваха на тържествения молебен за Съединението на Княжество България с Източна Румелия в катедралния храм Св. Богородица тази сутрин. И под купола на храма, в празничния ден, се усети предизборното разединение.
Всички политически сили, които имат амбиции да управляват Пловдив след края на октомври, се бяха разделили на групи. Видимо от двете страни на барикадата застанаха основните конкуренти на предстоящия местен вот- ГЕРБ и патриотичната коалиция.
Областният управител и кандидат за кмет Здравко Димитров, настоящият градоначалник Иван Тотев и отборът на управляващата партия бяха застанали отдясно в храма. Срещу тях бе другият сериозен претендент за кметския стол Славчо Атанасов, заедно с обявените вчера кандидати за районни кметове и целият предизборен екип на НФСБ и ВМРО.
В група бяха и народните представители от БСП, заедно със сочения за фаворит за кандидат за кмет от социалистическата партия Николай Радев.
